START BLOGGING

Your blog is the place to stimulate and capture conversations. Depending on how good you get at blogging, you can also add images and music to your site.

The two key components of your content are your PAGES and POSTS.

a. Posts

Posts are part of an ongoing document that covers specific categories. As you begin to plan your wedding, for instance, you might create posts covering Dress Fittings, Colour Schemes, Potential Venues and Photography. It can reflect what you do each day during your planning and preparations.

A Post will always be added to the top of main page of the blog. As they are published, other posts will move down the front page until they become “Archives”.

To write a post, click “Write” then start writing in the large box.

To edit a post, click “Manage” then “Posts” then click “Edit” for the post you need to change.

attach 32 Note: At the bottom of each post you have the option of inserting tags that summarise the key content of your post. They are totally optional and you can find out more about them here.

b. Pages

Pages provide additional information to your daily posts.

They are not categorised and may provide explanatory information: an ‘About’ page is the classic example, explaining to your readers the purpose of your site.

Remember that if you have the “Pages” widget in your sidebar, a link to the new page will be visible there.

To write a page, click “Write”, then “Write Page” then start writing in the large box.

To edit a page, click “Manage” then “Pages” then click “Edit” for the page you need to change.

attach 32 Note: You will have the option of using either the “Visual” or “Code” tab when writing on your blog. “Visual” shows you exactly how it will look on the page and is technically easier than code.

Inserting Images

Whatever the nature of your wedding day, it helps to be able to complement your conversations with pictures.

Want to send your bridesmaids a range of dresses that you are interested in them wearing? Take some quick pics and upload them and get them to vote for their favourites!

To get started with images, it is good to remember that large pics take up a large amount of space. Ideally your images should be no more that 300 pixels wide, especially if you want to get creative and wrap text around them!

Don’t panic though. You can simply choose an image to upload and stick it anywhere on your post or page.

To upload an image:

  1. On your Write page scroll down and click the Browse button in your Upload tab
  2. Find the picture you want on your computer and click Open
  3. Add an optional title and description and then click the Upload button
  4. When your image is done uploading, select how you’d like your image to look
  5. Then click “Send to Editor” to put the image into the blog post you are working on. Save the post and the image is now in your blog!
